By the time I got married, I had already assumed that most emotional labor and everyday responsibilities would naturally fall on me. Handling the invisible tasks of daily life felt like something I was simply expected to do, and accepting that seemed easier than questioning it.<\/p>\n

One ordinary afternoon, my husband went grocery shopping, and I asked him to pick up sanitary pads for me.
