Sylvester Stallone knows firsthand the unimaginable pain of losing a child.

In 2012, the actor faced one of the most devastating moments of his life when his firstborn son, Sage Stallone, died at just 36 years old.

What makes the story even more heartbreaking is that, only weeks before Sage’s death, his mother, Sasha Czack, had reportedly urged him not to undergo extensive dental surgery.

When Sage died suddenly, questions and rumors quickly spread.

People wondered whether drugs, alcohol, or even suicide might have been involved.

But when the official investigation was completed, the findings pointed to a very different cause.

Long before Sylvester Stallone became one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars, his own life was filled with difficulties.

He was born with an injury to a facial nerve caused by complications during his delivery. The injury left part of his face partially paralyzed and contributed to the distinctive expression that would later become closely associated with him.

Growing up, Stallone was frequently bullied because of his appearance. He later recalled feeling as though his face simply didn’t fit the way it was supposed to.

Home wasn’t always a safe place either.

Stallone has spoken about having a difficult relationship with his father, whom he described as abusive, as well as a distant relationship with his mother.

His behavior became increasingly troubled during his teenage years. He was reportedly expelled from several schools and often found himself involved in dangerous situations.

Eventually, bodybuilding and acting gave him a different direction.

But success was still far away.

Before becoming famous, Stallone experienced serious financial hardship. He has described periods when he had nowhere to stay and slept at New York City’s Port Authority.

At one point, he recalled having only a single coat to protect himself during the freezing winter.

Then, in 1976, everything changed.

Stallone starred in the original Rocky, a film that transformed his career and eventually made him an international superstar.

Before reaching the peak of Hollywood success, Stallone married photographer and filmmaker Sasha Czack.

The couple eventually welcomed

The Family He Started Before Fame
