A new AI simulation of the 2028 U.S. presidential election is generating buzz online after the YouTube channel Election Time partnered with Grok AI, the artificial intelligence platform created by Elon Musk through xAI. The video explores a potential matchup between Kamala Harris and JD Vance.
The AI model uses historical election results, demographic trends, and polling data to construct a simulated Electoral College map. The creators emphasize that it’s not an actual prediction, but a way to visualize possible scenarios.
In the Democratic primary simulation, Harris comes out on top with about 32% support, followed by Gavin Newsom at roughly 23.8%, while Pete Buttigieg ranks third. Other candidates in the simulation include Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Josh Shapiro.
On the Republican side, Vance leads with nearly half of the simulated support, ahead of Donald Trump Jr., Marco Rubio, and Ron DeSantis.
The final simulated Electoral College results show Vance winning many Midwestern and Southern states, while Harris retains Democratic strongholds along the West Coast and in the Northeast. In the model, Vance earns 326 electoral votes, with Harris taking the remainder—though the creators note that real-world politics can be far less predictable.
