The individual suspected in the shooting near the White House Correspondents’ Dinner at the Washington Hilton has been identified as Cole Allen, a 31-year-old computer scientist from Torrance, California.

Based on public records and online information, Allen has a background in engineering and game development. He is said to have created a shooter-style role-playing game called First Law and later worked on a physics-based game titled Bohrdom.

Reports indicate that he studied mechanical engineering at the California Institute of Technology, graduating in 2017, and took part in astrophysics-related research at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
