President Trump has issued a stark warning to Iran, stating that severe consequences could follow if the country does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz or accept a ceasefire agreement within 48 hours.
In a post on Truth Social, he referred back to an earlier ultimatum, saying Iran was running out of time to “make a deal” or reopen the key shipping route. He added that failure to comply could lead to serious retaliation, declaring that a major response could be imminent.
The Strait of Hormuz, a vital global oil passage, has reportedly been closed by Iran in response to recent tensions and military strikes involving the United States and Israel. The closure has already raised concerns across international energy markets.
Trump also referenced previous statements in which he had warned of delaying or launching strikes on Iran’s energy infrastructure if no agreement was reached, emphasizing that deadlines were still in effect.
According to his latest message, a new point of action was set for Tuesday evening Eastern Time, suggesting further developments could be coming soon.
Following reports of Iranian forces downing U.S. aircraft, Trump later stated that American personnel involved in rescue operations had been recovered safely. He praised the military effort, describing it as a complex and highly coordinated mission conducted in hostile territory without American casualties.
In additional remarks, he issued another strongly worded warning to Iran, referencing planned actions against infrastructure targets if the Strait remains closed, and urging its reopening in forceful terms.
The president also highlighted the rescue of U.S. aircrew members, describing it as an unprecedented military success carried out deep inside enemy-controlled areas. He credited U.S. forces for their precision, coordination, and effectiveness during the operation.
Military analysts noted that such missions require extensive planning and cooperation across multiple branches of the armed forces, underscoring the complexity involved in executing rescues in high-risk environments.
The situation remains highly tense, with further developments expected as the deadline approaches.
