Actor Bruce Willis, 70, who has been living with frontotemporal dementia, has moved into a specialized care facility close to his family. His wife, Emma Heming Willis, 47, revealed during an ABC special that the decision was among the most difficult she has ever faced, but one she believes reflects what Bruce would have wanted for their daughters, Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11.
She shared that he is now cared for by a dedicated team focused on his comfort and well-being. According to Emma, the move was about ensuring his safety, preserving his dignity, and allowing their daughters to continue creating meaningful, happy memories with their father.
Bruce now receives around-the-clock professional support, while his family stays closely involved in his life. They visit often, spending time together through simple activities like meals, watching films, and sharing quiet moments that help maintain their bond.
Although his speech has significantly declined, Emma explained that his physical strength remains. She emphasized that while the disease affects his brain, his capacity for love is still very much present.
The family has adapted to new ways of connecting, using music, touch, and small gestures to communicate. Friends and loved ones also continue to visit, bringing familiarity and warmth into his daily routine.
For Emma, this transition is not about loss but about providing peace and dignity. She described it as a compassionate choice, noting that even now, moments of joy, laughter, and connection continue to define their time together.
