A group of priests and nuns were traveling on an overnight train. Since every compartment was booked, some had to share cabins for the journey.
In one cabin, a young priest and a young nun settled in for an uncomfortable night of trying not to disturb one another.
For hours, neither spoke a word.
Then, without warning, the train jolted sharply. The nun lost her balance and accidentally rolled onto the priest.
Both immediately froze.
After an awkward pause, the priest quietly said, “Sister, it seems gravity is putting our vows to the test.”
Embarrassed, the nun quickly moved back to her side of the cabin.
“Forgive me, Father,” she replied. “That was entirely the train’s fault.”
A few minutes later, another sudden turn sent the priest sliding across the cabin—straight toward the nun.
Flustered, he immediately raised his hands.
“Sister, I assure you, this is also gravity.”
The nun smiled and replied,
“Father, if gravity keeps behaving like this, by sunrise we’ll both need to confess to a physics teacher.”
The rest of the journey was spent holding tightly to their seats—and trying not to laugh.
