In a hospital environment where each day moves quickly and emotions run high, even the simplest acts of reassurance can carry deep meaning. For me, that reassurance often came from working alongside my father, an experienced nurse whose calm demeanor and years of dedication had always inspired me. Whenever our shifts coincided, we would exchange a brief hug in the hallway—a small, familiar gesture before returning to our responsibilities. It felt completely natural to us. Yet one ordinary afternoon, that harmless moment was seen through the wrong lens, and by the following day, a quiet embrace had turned into whispered speculation spreading rapidly throughout the hospital.

Almost instantly, the atmosphere changed. Colleagues who were usually warm and talkative seemed distant and unsure.
