A “Wheel of Fortune” contestant has drawn attention after an impressive run that earned him nearly $73,000 and secured his place in an upcoming tournament finale.
Ray Cason from Butler, Florida, had a standout performance during the February 11 episode, where he consistently led the game and ultimately finished with a total of $72,950. A lifelong New York Yankees fan, he is also known for building miniature baseball stadiums for wiffle ball games. Outside of the show, he is a family man, married for 30 years with five children and three grandchildren.
The episode was part of NASCAR Tournament Week, with top contestants advancing to compete for additional cash and a trip to the Daytona 500. Cason quickly gained momentum, winning early Toss-Ups and correctly solving multiple puzzles, including one that earned him a prize and helped him secure a strong lead.
He continued his winning streak through the main game, adding cash, a vacation prize, and even landing on the Million Dollar Wedge. Although another contestant briefly closed the gap, Cason finished the round in the lead and advanced to the Bonus Round.
In the final round, he successfully solved the puzzle “Beyond Words,” adding $40,000 to his total. While he did not claim the million-dollar prize, his final winnings reached $72,950.
With a guaranteed spot in the tournament finale and a strong overall performance, Cason’s appearance became one of the highlights of the episode.
